Thanks for the article and the information. I also need to use this scanner as a keyboard input and I'm having trouble finding the wedge software. Can anyone direct me to where I may find it? Also, I seen the software has "XP in the name. Is it compatible with windows 7?

The application is understood but why specifically Kapton Films for this application. Why we can not go for any other high performance film like PEEK films.

Nice summary, David. A few clarifications:

IPL is indeed the more popular language for US users. However, in Europe and much of the world Direct Protocol is more popular.

Fingerprint is a general-purpose programming language, like BASIC. Direct Protocol (DP) is the label design language built into Fingerprint. So choosing either Fingerprint or DP is essentially the same.

For those running BarTender from Seagull Software, either their driver or InterDriver works. Just set the printer to Fingerprint or DP and you're off and running.

WTF is with WTO? Of course we should know where our food comes from!

Hopefully when we get proper traceability in place for these products, the consumer will be able to see exactly where the meat came from and be able to make decisions on what to buy.

I just spoke with David and want to clarify; this information is not entirely accurate.

It does sound like there was some miscommunication with our tech support and a
WincoID customer. We do offer an immediate solution to all customers who experience an internet issue or do not have an internet connection.

Additionally, the software runs for 7 days without a connection. The reason for this change is that TEKLYNX is now able to offer annual subscription as a licensing option. This allows customers a much lower cost of entry bundling services, maintenance and technical support.
